At Pleasant Hill Elementary School, our curriculum is aligned to the Illinois Learning Standards for all courses. Our school district began work to establish consistent curriculum from grades K-8, beginning with new ELA curriculum (McGraw Hill Wonders K-5 & Study Sync 6-8) adopted for the 2022-2023 school year and new Math curriculum (Illustrative Mathematics) adopted for the 2025-2026 school year. Other instructional resources are reviewed annually as needed.

Pleasant Hill Elementary School Instructional Practices are student centered and focused on supporting the needs of the Whole Child. The five tenets of a whole child education--healthy, safe, engaged, supported, and challenged— provide a framework and understanding of what a whole child approach to instruction means. Students are supported academically, social-emotionally and behaviorally through Multi-Tiered Systems of Support.
